With its soft upholstery and sweeping curves, Rolf Benz SMO combines the functionality of a classic shell seat with today’s requirements for ergonomic comfort. The result is an organic form that offers an innovative certain something. For those who expect design to offer more than just function.

Its appearance: elegant. Its philosophy: relaxed. Rolf Benz SMO was designed by Hamburg design studio Labs Design and is more than a traditional side chair. Developed as a multifunctional shell seat to interface with the armchair, it always provides a relaxed seating position – at the dining table, for instance. After all, it’s nice to sit around for a while after a good meal. However, instead of an upright position as you eat, you may prefer to sit back and relax afterwards. You can do exactly that with Rolf Benz SMO, since the seat and back shell move with you, gliding into a relaxed position. Give it a try.

Rolf Benz SMO is more than just a chair. As a sophisticated seating element, it also keeps up appearances. The chair is a real eye-catcher at any dining table! Individually coordinated with its surroundings, the back and the sides facing the room (inside and out) can be covered in different materials and colours. With its central decorative stitching and different leg options (4-leg metal, 4-leg solid wood), you can enjoy a sculptural combination of design, comfort and function.
