Living beyond boundaries. ROLF BENZ at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen.
The apartment-style setting, which has been deliberately designed to look and feel like a home, showcases selected new products and iconic designs worlds apart from conventional trade fair displays: open, authentic and true to life. High-quality materials, precision craftsmanship and an exceptional level of comfort can all be experienced first-hand.
At the center of the presentation is the Rolf Benz TAYA sofa collection, which, following its premiere at Salone del Mobile 2025, is now being showcased internationally once again. Designed by the Danish design studio Norsmind, TAYA represents a new, boundaryless concept of living that seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces.
With a clear focus on horizontal lines and generous proportions, Rolf Benz TAYA creates the atmosphere of a fascinating in-between world. The slim silhouette of the modular lounge sofa is supported by a delicate upholstered frame on which softly sculpted seat and back cushions appear to rest effortlessly. The result is a compelling interplay of architectural clarity and sensual comfort.
The design by Svend Loevbjerg and Henrik Pedersen is based on the concept of “extending the living area a little further outside – without borders or limits and with unrivalled indoor seating comfort.” It’s precisely this idea that shapes the entire concept of TAYA: a sofa that doesn’t have to choose between inside or outdoors but elegantly blends the two worlds together.
With its wide range of modules and possible combinations, Rolf Benz TAYA fits in with a variety of living spaces and lifestyles. Flexible seat and back cushions create ever-changing configurations, emphasising the sofa’s open and individual character. The frame, seat and backrest upholstery and the loose backrest cushions are available in different fabrics and colours. Add your own personal touch by combining these to create unusual compositions with varying materials and colours.
During the sofa’s development, attention was paid to ensuring that cosy elegance and quality of comfort could also be experienced outside. The outdoor version has a weather-resistant stainless steel frame, water-repellent cushions and specially developed outdoor fabrics, yet still retains the precision craftsmanship and luxurious appearance that is typical of ROLF BENZ products.
Henrik Pedersen describes in particular “the unique way in which the sharp, clearly defined exterior blends with the super-soft interior.” This is a deliberate contrast that gives TAYA an identity all of its own.
At the same time, the range also reflects the close creative connection between Norsmind and ROLF BENZ. “It's only natural that we should match ROLF BENZ’s DNA, since the brand has always embodied the courage and willingness to challenge the status quo,” say Svend Loevbjerg and Henrik Pedersen. “It’s an ethos that we truly admire.”
The ELVA sofa range, which was presented last autumn, is also being extended. With the new Rolf Benz ELVA armchair, the collection has a new characterful addition that continues the soft, organic design vocabulary. With its inviting silhouette, finely modelled transitions and an exceptionally high level of seating comfort, the armchair emits an air of lightness and security.
Rolf Benz ELVA is the perfect complement within the sofa range of the same name. With its original design, the armchair can easily be combined with different home environments and many other sofa ranges from ROLF BENZ. ELVA also makes a real statement when placed on its own and is an elegant retreat with a sculptural presence and a cosy atmosphere.

New at the Salone del Mobile: Rolf Benz TAYA - The highest standards in design and comfort – for indoors and out.
In their design idea for Rolf Benz TAYA, Svend Loevbjerg and Henrik Pedersen from the Danish design agency Norsmind take the approach of “extending the living area a little further outwards – without any borders or limits and with unrivalled indoor seating comfort.” In Milan, ROLF BENZ is using high-quality materials and richly varied combinations to show how a sofa can take on a new meaning as an expression of personal living space and creative freedom.
A name is a sofa range: Rolf Benz TAYA.
The name TAYA is derived from various origins. In Japanese, the term evokes a feeling of natural beauty, calm and a sense of deep-rootedness. In Hebrew, however, it means “searcher” or “explorer” and symbolises curiosity and adventure. It’s no coincidence that the word sounds soft and inviting: this elegant lounge sofa offers an especially luxurious seating experience in both comfort options (“Lounge Plus” and “Lounge Deluxe”) – each with a different character in terms of seating comfort and appearance. With a combination of individual modules, Rolf Benz TAYA can be adapted and customised to suit rooms of any size. Thanks to flexible seat and backrest cushions, it can also be changed time and time again depending on the situation.
A design from a new world
Rolf Benz TAYA has a streamlined, delicate frame on which the soft upholstery rests. With its clear, horizontal orientation, the sofa appears to float on its fine runners.
Designer Henrik Pedersen is delighted by the “unique way in which the sharp and clearly defined outsides, blend with the supersoft insides, creating a mix of different textiles and materials that both visually contrast with and complement each other.” With a mix of up to three different materials, the choice of upholstery fabrics allows you to significantly influence the sofa’s appearance and adapt its colour scheme as desired.
The covers of Rolf Benz TAYA can easily be removed. The indoor and outdoor cover collections were therefore supplemented at the Milan trade fair with fabrics that can be cleaned, making this sofa particularly durable. According to Svend Loevbjerg, this is “above all thanks to the Nagold team’s passion for sustainability,” which particularly impressed the Danish design studio during their collaboration.
A sofa concept designed beyond borders.
The upholstered side section cushions of Rolf Benz TAYA extend the seating area and, like the seat cushions, can be positioned flexibly. Alternatively, ceramic shelves are available in “Calacatta” or “Black Coffee Marble”. The coffee table with the same name proves to be the perfect partner for the sofa, both indoors and out. The surface of the table’s frame can be selected to match the runners of the sofa. The round ceramic table top is inlaid in the table and can be moved as required. For outdoor use, long-lasting thermo ash is used for the table top instead of oak or walnut and combined with a frame made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
With Rolf Benz TAYA, international design from Denmark and Swabian perfectionism are equally at home. A symbiosis that Svend Loevbjerg and Henrik Pedersen describe as follows: “It's only natural that we should align with ROLF BENZ’s DNA, since the brand has always embodied the courage and willingness to challenge the status quo.
